Monitor your own electric usage!
There's a reason they call smart meters, well, smart. Follow the link below:

By entering your meter number and your ESI ID (this is an electricity identification number for your address), you can see your current electricity usage. BearBills can provide you with an ESI ID and a meter number, so just e-mail info@bearbills.com for that information. Now, instead of asking us to read bills for you, you can see your own usage as you use it!
That's pretty cool.

With the summer come the bugs...
Happy summer.
We've been made aware of several bugs on our website. You may or may not have run into these. The vast majority of customers are having everything work fine for them (as far as we know).
If, however, you run into one of these problems, just let us know at info@bearbills.com. We're aware of the problems, we're working on them, but unfortunately, change doesn't happen overnight. Just e-mail us with any questions, and try not to worry about it! Problems are easy to fix. All you have to do is let us know.
It's our goal to have a simple, worry-free service. We apologize for any inconvenience from web bugs in the process.

We're like a big family that doesn't know each other's faces
As you may have seen by now, BearBills is back on Twitter and Facebook. It seemed the rest of the world was doing it, so it might be a good way to get to know people more.
I guess better late than never. We'd better start tweeting a lot to make it look like we've been up on the trends since they got popular... which was what, months ago?
We've been busy splitting bills, alright? Trying to make people's lives easier, okay?
Excuses aside, we're wanting to get to know people more on Facebook and Twitter. We also want to be getting more communication out to our customers about changes to our services, as well as helpful hints about utilities to help everyone be smarter and a little more bill-savvy.
To start our little online family of BearBillers, we're going to be offering some gift card giveaways (free stuff?!?!) to our Twitter followers and Facebook fans. If you're reading this and are not a part of the BearBillers on Twitter or Facebook, then get started! Free things await!
(Really, we'd just like to get to know our fans and customers better).

It's a new year! Well... sort of.
I've heard that moving out is one of the top ten most stressful things that can happen in life. That's kind of sad, considering it's up there with death of a loved one and losing a job. In the scheme of things, it doesn't seem quite that bad.
But it is pretty lame.
Good thing BearBills is there to make the utilities part of that easier! We don't have any movers, but we can help get stuff turned on pretty easily.
I don't know how much you BearBillers have poked around on the website, but there's some rather cool things there now. Payment history is a HUGE new thing, that's been a long time coming! The "History" tab online will take you to a month-by-month reading of your bills and payments.
One of my favorites is the "Update Group" tab. Now you have the ability to change percentages for yourself! No more calling BearBills to ask if you can pay 25% of this and 20% of that. The "Update Group" tab lets you change percentages yourself. Log in, make any changes, and get your roommates to log in and approve the changes, and you're finished! It's a lot like making a friend request on Facebook, except, well, not as exciting.
